I'm Jonathan Cheong – a detection engineer, threat intelligence analyst, and security practitioner with over a decade in both offensive and defensive cyber security.

Currently a Lead Analyst in Cyber Detection & Hunting at NAB, formerly leading Operational Threat Intelligence with ANZ Bank and serving in multiple leadership roles within the Department of Parliamentary Services' Cyber Security Division. My expertise is grounded in seven years performing various Cyber roles within the Australian Signals Directorate, and numerous professional certifications.

Outside of work, I'm pursuing numerous AI-enabled Cyber Security projects and keep abreast of the dynamic threat landscape that underpins my ongoing professional development. A political science degree from Monash also feeds the strategic policy and cyber security analysis I pen in this blog, alongside the technical pieces.
